Solomon Ports invites the public to its 70th Anniversary Open Day featuring exhibits, displays, and activities
Solomon Ports is inviting members of the public to join its 70th Anniversary Open Day and Exhibition on Thursday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, at the Magic Land area along Commonwealth Street, behind the Millennium Terminal.
The event is part of Solomon Ports’ 70th Anniversary celebrations and provides an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Port’s history, operations, and contributions to national development.
The day will commence with a staff parade from the SMI grounds at Town Ground. Staff from all departments and sections will march in their respective groups, showcasing the diverse workforce that keeps Solomon Ports operating efficiently.
The parade will conclude at the Magic Land venue, where formal proceedings will include addresses by Solomon Ports Management, Board members, and some of the organization’s longest-serving employees.
Throughout the day, departments will showcase their work through interactive displays and demonstrations, giving the public a closer look at the essential services that support port operations. The Operations and Engineering Departments will also conduct equipment demonstrations, highlighting the machinery and specialized equipment used to handle cargo and facilitate trade through the port.
Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities and competitions for a chance to win exclusive Solomon Ports 70th Anniversary merchandise and prizes.
Information booths hosted by each department will be available throughout the day, allowing members of the public to engage directly with staff, ask questions, and learn more about the services provided by Solomon Ports.
Live entertainment and music will be featured throughout the event, creating a fun and family-friendly atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
