BLP launches a Co-Investment Fund to boost MSME growth, job creation, and sustainability in the Solomon Islands
Honiara — Business Link Pacific (BLP), a programme funded by the New Zealand Government, has launched a new Co-Investment Fund designed to strengthen outcomes for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Solomon Islands.
The newly introduced fund aims to mobilise financing for MSME-led projects focused on improving business performance, generating employment, and promoting social and environmental sustainability across the country.
According to BLP, the Co-Investment Fund (CIF) will support businesses by matching their investment contributions, enabling MSMEs to take on larger projects and expand their impact. To qualify, businesses must be registered and have operated in the Solomon Islands for at least three years.
The fund targets enterprises with up to 50 employees, with a strong emphasis on encouraging applications from women, youth, and underserved groups.
Business Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the CIF, businesses must meet the following criteria:
- Provide matching funds, including cash investments such as own capital, loans, or external financing.
- Be an existing business currently operating in the Solomon Islands.
- Hold a valid business registration and comply with local tax and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a business bank account and provide financial records, including audited statements (if available) or management accounts for the past three years.
- Employ fewer than 50 people.
- Businesses that have previously received BLP funding may still apply; however, applications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on past support received.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must first create an SME Hub Account on the BLP Portal and submit an expression of interest (EOI) form to indicate intent and preliminary eligibility. The form is accessible through the SME Hub Account.
