Annual congress adopts key reports and budget, setting a clear direction for future initiatives
The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) held its Annual Ordinary Congress today at the Mendana Hotel, bringing together football leaders from its 10 Provincial Football Associations (PFA) to discuss key organizational matters.
The congress included the adoption of the SIFF 2023 Activity Report, 2023 Audit Report, 2023 Financial Statement, and the approval of the 2025 Budget.
SIFF President Donald Marahare emphasized the importance of passing the budget following extensive deliberations during a two-day pre-congress and the congress proper.
“This marks the first annual congress since the election of the new executive,” Marahare said. “It’s crucial that the congress thoroughly examines the budget to address any issues and set a clear direction for the future.” “As SIFF continues to grow, we must manage our resources efficiently to ensure equitable development across all our member associations,” he said.
“This must be done by FIFA and OFC guidelines to maintain our standards and integrity.”
The congress also approved the formation of the Audit and Compliance Committee, aimed at strengthening financial oversight and ensuring adherence to best practices within the organization.
The adoption of these reports and the approval of the budget are seen as significant milestones in SIFF’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability. The formation of the Audit and Compliance Committee further underscores SIFF’s commitment to robust governance.
As SIFF moves forward, the decisions made at this congress will play a crucial role in shaping the future of football in the Solomon Islands, ensuring that the sport continues to grow and thrive.
