Solomon Islands players continue strong performances in Australia’s NPL and State League fixtures this weekend.

Solomon Islands soccer defender Javin Wae is expected to anchor Campbelltown City
defence against Adelaide Croatia Raiders in a round 10 fixture of the South Australia (SA)
National Premier League (NPL) on Friday.
Wae has been formidable in defence for Campbelltown in their last two matches and is
expected to don the red jersey again at the heart of defence against 10 th place Raiders.
Campbelltown currently sits at sixth place on the SA NPL competition whilst his countryman
Junior David and his Croydon FC are in seventh position.
David who came in as a second half substitute in Croydon’s 3-1 defeat to FK Beograd last
weekend is expected to feature for his club against Metro Stars at home in Regency Park on
Saturday 17 th May.
Metro Stars currently leads the SA NPL table after round nine and will want to maintain its
top position against Croydon in this round 10 fixture on Saturday.
In the SA State League One, Solomon Islands soccer defender William Komasi and his
Adelaide Cobra side will take on Salisbury United 3pm local time on Saturday at the Weigall
Oval Main in west Adelaide.
Cobra is currently in ninth place, thus Komasi and his teammates will need to up their game
against fifth place Salisbury on Saturday.
Another Saturday afternoon round 10 match of the SA State League One will see Micah
Lea’alafa and his Vipers FC teammates up against Cumberland United at the Apex Football
Stadium in north Adelaide.
Vipers are 10 th on the ladder so far whilst their opponent Cumberland is in seventh, but
Lea’alafa and company will be aiming for a victory.
Another SA State League One round 10 fixture will be featuring Rovu Boyers and his West
Adelaide club taking on Adelaide Olympic on Saturday night also at the Apex Football
Stadium in north Adelaide.
Boyers is currently one of the top goal scorers in the SA State League One level, having
scored five goals so far for the Hellas and is fourth top goal scorer in the competition.
West Adelaide is currently third on the table whilst its Saturday opponent Adelaide Olympic
is one place behind at fourth place.
Another Solomon Islands soccer player Raphael Leai will feature for his Wollongong Wolves
side in the New South Wales (NSW) NPL on Saturday against Blacktown City.
Leai and his Wolves teammates became the first club to defeat Marconi last weekend and
will be looking at emulating the same performance against Blacktown at WIN stadium on
Saturday night.
Leai and his Adelaide-based colleagues Wae, David, Komasi, Lea’alafa and Boyers are
playing club football in Australia through a funding support from the Australia High
Commission in Honiara in partnership with the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
