Day 10 of the Sol2023 Pacific Games (Thursday 30 November) will see a massive 13 sports in their final laps of action in Honiara.
Triathlon men’s and women’s finals take place early on Thursday morning, starting at 7am at the Aquatic Centre for the swimming leg and continuing on the roads of Honiara for the running and cycling legs. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry to the Aquatic Centre.
Athletics continues from 4.15pm at Honiara’s National Stadium. Events on the fourth day include finals for women’s 1500m, women’s 100m hurdles, men’s 110m hurdles, and 4x400m relay for both men and women on the track. In the field, women’s shot put secured throw will take place along with women’s javelin, women’s triple jump, men’s discuss and men’s long jump. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
Athletes will re-enter the boxing ring onThursday throughout the afternoon from 1pm with fights in fly and super heavy weight for men and feather and welter weight for women. All bouts are happening at the Aquatic Centre and a Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
The netball arena at Friendship Hall will see more action until 6pm. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
Over at SIFF Academy, basketball 3×3 and beach volleyball continue their pool matches. It’s a great opportunity to catch action all day across the two sports. Tickets are $30.
Hockey enters the final stages of pool matches on Thursday morning and will see its semi-final matches take place at the National Hockey Centre in the afternoon. Action will start at 8:30am but semi-finals will commence at 2pm. Entry is $30.
Powerlifting is also at SIFF Academy, and the final four categories to be contested are in the men’s 93kg, 105kg, 120kg and 120kg+ where more medals are up for grabs. Entry is $30.
DC Park continues to host touch rugby and Thursday sees the start of the mixed competitions, with nine matches to be played in total. Entry is free.
Also at DC Park, va’a and kayak will be the stars of the show on the water again on Thursday. Va’a has already seen lots of fast paddling racing in outrigger canoes and enters its second last day, while the first ever Pacific Games kayak competition will be concluding on Thursday. Entry is free.
Sailing will continue, wind permitting, at DC Park on Thursday and races run until around 4pm. Entry is free.
Tennis is at the home stretch with the finals of the men and women’s singles and doubles. The women’s singles final will see Samoa v PNG at 10am while in the men’s singles, New Caledonia will take on Tahiti at 11am. In the doubles, Samoa v Solomon Islands in the women’s final is at 12:30pm, followed by Fiji v Tuvalu in the men’s final. Play will take place at the National Tennis Centre, where a Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
Football continues after a day off on Wednesday with three men’s placing play off matches at SIFF Academy. Entry is $30.
