RSIPF receives media gear and 400+ Bibles from AFP to boost communication, outreach, and officers’ spiritual wellbeing.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) partnership program, RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), handed media equipment and bibles to RSIPF last week.
The media equipment handed over to the RSIPF Media Unit is essential in bridging the gap between the police and the community, promoting safety messages, operational updates, and public confidence in law enforcement.
Acting Commander RAPPP, Mr. Adam McCormack, said, “These items are a small token of our support, an investment in the ability to communicate effectively with the public, strengthen community relationships, and share the important work RSIPF Media does every day. The media items will enable stronger outreach through awareness campaigns, community policing promotions, and educational content.
Acting Commander McCormack said, “We are proud to support the RSIPF in promoting transparency, professionalism, and safety for all Solomon Islanders. The media equipment was carefully selected based on recommendations from the AFP production team, who worked closely with the RSIPF media team during their visit in January this year.
RAPPP Commander Mr. McCormack said a total of 400-plus Bibles were also handed over during the gifting ceremony. The RSIPF Bible project began in 2022 to update the official RSIPF holy bibles. Initial plans were delayed due to the closure of the original supplier during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. McCormack said the project was revived in May 2024 by the Health, Wellbeing, and Community Engagement Team of RAPPP. A new supplier was engaged to produce bespoke holy bibles tailored to the RSIPF’s requirements. Each Bible features a welcome message from Commissioner Mostyn Mangau and a prayer from the RSIPF chaplain.
He said three hundred bibles were printed to support the spiritual well-being of RSIPF officers and their families, and an additional 150 pocket-sized New Testament bibles will be gifted to new RSIPF recruits upon graduation. These gifts honour the important role of religion in supporting the values, resilience, and integrity of RSIPF officers.
RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau thanked the RAPPP Commander for the media equipment for the RSIPF Media Team. He emphasized the importance of providing resources that enhance communication and outreach efforts.
Commissioner Mangau said this support not only strengthens the team’s capabilities but also fosters a stronger connection with the community the RSIPF serves.
Mr. Mangau emphasized the significance of a strong spiritual foundation within the force, noting that these Bibles will provide guidance and comfort to officers as they navigate their responsibilities.
He expressed his hope that the Bibles would serve as a source of inspiration and strength for both the officers and their families.
