Solomon Islands launches theme and logo for 54th Pacific Islands Forum, highlighting unity and Pacific regionalism.

Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele this week launched the official theme and logo for the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) during a special ceremony at the Trade Fair Grounds, SINU Village.
Scheduled for 8 to 12 September 2025, the Forum Leaders Meeting marks a significant moment for Solomon Islands to host regional leaders and reaffirms the country’s commitment to Pacific unity and shared priorities.
The official theme — “Iumi Tugeda: Act Now for an Integrated Blue Pacific Continent” — was unveiled as a call for collective action. The Prime Minister emphasized that the theme represents a united and urgent approach to regional challenges, including climate change, ocean protection, digital transformation, and economic recovery.
“This is more than a theme — it is a call to action. It is a signal to the world that the Pacific stands united in vision and voice,” said the Prime Minister.
He explained that “Iumi Tugeda” reflects Pacific solidarity and shared values of kinship and mutual care, while “Act Now” highlights the urgency of current challenges. “An Integrated Blue Pacific Continent” envisions a more connected, resilient, and unified region.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the foundational efforts of previous governments in securing Solomon Islands’ hosting role and thanked Forum leaders for their trust. He noted that preparations have spanned several administrations, demonstrating long-standing national support for Pacific regionalism.
As part of the lead-up to the event, a national logo design competition was held last month, attracting 45 entries. The Prime Minister commended the creativity and patriotism of the participants and recognized the winning design by Philip Tepuika, who received a certificate and award during the ceremony. The official logo was then revealed on large screens.
“To everyone who participated — I commend your creativity, initiative, and national pride,” the Prime Minister said.
He reaffirmed expectations for a successful Forum meeting, stressing that success will be defined by practical outcomes and shared determination, not just declarations.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the efforts of those involved in organizing the 2025 National Trade Fair — including committee members, public servants, businesses, and stallholders. Despite recent weather challenges, he said their efforts brought the event to life and reflected the resilience of Solomon Islanders.
He concluded by encouraging citizens to prepare to welcome Pacific leaders in September with unity and pride, noting that the occasion is an opportunity for Solomon Islands to demonstrate its Pacific identity and values as part of the Blue Pacific Continent.
