Official MOU Marks a Significant Milestone in Collaboration for Daily Television News by Tavuli News

This agreement formalizes the partnership that has enabled Tavuli News to broadcast daily news via TTV’s free-to-air channel for the past year.

Established in 2022, Tavuli News is privately owned and currently operated by a dedicated team of five staff members, all multi-skilled. Despite the challenges we have faced, our commitment to delivering high-quality news has been unwavering. The MOU not only solidifies our business relationship with TTV but also highlights our shared dedication to providing timely and reliable news to the local community.

Under the terms of the MOU, Tavuli News will continue to broadcast daily terrestrial news from Monday to Friday at 8 PM and 12 PM on TTV1 and will also have the opportunity to sell airtime for advertisements during the news segments. In addition to our television broadcasts, we live stream our news on Facebook and YouTube, ensuring accessibility for a broader audience. Furthermore, Tavuli News is aired via Pasifika TV, a network that focuses on broadcasting content from the Pacific Islands region, expanding our reach even further.

Our dream is also to provide a platform for young Solomon Islanders interested in filming, video production and journalism by creating employment opportunities for them. While there is much more we would love to offer to our young Solomon Islanders, the media sector presents significant challenges for doing business. The pathway for us was not easy, but with dedication and support from our family and peers, we have reached where we are today.

OUR VISION:

To elevate the standard of journalism in Solomon Islands during the digital transition by providing accurate information to all communities.

OUR MISSION:

To be the leading multimedia news provider, empowering and connecting communities in Solomon Islands through quality journalism.

OUR CORE VALUES:

We are committed to delivering news and information that is reliable, factual and unbiased, prioritizing accuracy to earn and maintain the trust of our audience. We strive to connect with all communities in Solomon Islands, ensuring that their voices are heard and represented, valuing inclusivity, diversity and fair representation. Driven by a deep passion for journalism and the pursuit of truth, we approach our work with dedication, perseverance and a commitment to excellence. We believe in fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, valuing teamwork, open communication and continuous learning to enhance the skills and expertise of our team members. Leading by example, we put the needs and interests of our audience and communities first, dedicated to serving the public interest and acting responsibly as a trusted source of information.

Through our vision, mission and core values, we are dedicated to providing accurate, reliable and inclusive journalism that empowers communities and contributes to the digital transition in Solomon Islands.
