Teha Bible Translation launches October 4 at Namoraoni SSEC Church, marking a historic milestone for Teha speakers
The long-awaited Teha Bible Translation will be officially launched on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Namoraoni SSEC Local Church in central Guadalcanal.
Organizers describe the launch as a significant milestone in biblical history for the Teha-speaking community. The event is themed “Unveiling the Treasure,” reflecting the importance of making the Bible available in the Teha language.
According to the organizers, the Teha Bible Translation is regarded as “a treasure that far surpasses the value of material resources in central Guadalcanal, for it reveals the will of God in the simple language of our people.”
The launch program will include a vibrant procession led by the Malango Women’s Group and the Suta Marching Band, followed by keynote speeches from Member of Parliament Peter Shanel, Paramount Chief Walton Naezon of central Guadalcanal, the MPA of Malango Ward, and a representative of the church.
The Vice Bishop of SSEC will officially commission the new Teha Bible Translation, and Dr. Jeremiah Dauara, SITAG Vernacular Media Strategist, will deliver a message from the Bible.
The celebration will also feature presentations by community groups, including the Malango Women’s Fellowship, the Belaha community, the Suta community, the SDA community, and the Bahomea community.
Organizers have extended an open invitation to communities in Belaha, Malango, Bahomea, and Vulolo, as well as Teha-speaking people living outside central Guadalcanal, including those in the Lauvatale area, to join the event.
More than 300 guests, including representatives from various sectors of the Teha-speaking community, are expected to attend the historic celebration.
