PM Jeremiah Manele updates on government Bills before Parliament, outlining key legislation and next steps.
Honiara, Solomon Islands, Wednesday 4 January 2026 – Prime Minister, Jeremiah Manele, MP, has provided an update on the Government’s legislative agenda currently before the National Parliament.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the Prime Minister confirmed that three Bills are now on notice before Parliament: the SOE (Amendment) Bill 2024, the Mineral Resources Bill 2025, and the VAT Bill 2025.
He said the Government is awaiting the Speaker’s consideration for notice on the DDA (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Civil Registration Bill 2025.
The Prime Minister said the Government will continue to liaise with the Clerk of National Parliament on the timing of Bills and Bills and Legislation Committee hearings for those already on notice.
