Immigration department under pressure with high number of passport applicants
The Immigration Department in the Ministry of Commerce, Labour and Industry are under pressure from the growing number of passport applicants. The system used at the Immigration needs applicants to present themselves at the Immigration department for everything, even to the collection of passports. Reports reaching Tavuli News says applicants are expected to present themselves a the Immigration department to wait for their names to be called out at the entry upon completion of their passport.
‘I do not have the time to wait all day for my name to be called out. I have work to do’, disgruntled passport applicants told Tavuli News.
Passport applicants are calling on the government to support the Immigration Department to ensure they are able to deal with the issue at hand. Many have criticised the government for its inefficiency to deal with the issue at hand.
