Lency Vokia sworn in as Minister for Lands in GNUT reshuffle aimed at boosting governance and service delivery.

Lency Vokia was officially sworn in this morning at Government House as the new Minister for Lands, Housing and Survey, following a cabinet reshuffle under the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT).
The oath of office was administered by the Governor-General, Sir Reverend David Tiva Kapu.
Vokia, who previously served as Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, takes over the Lands, Housing and Survey portfolio from Polycarp Paea. Paea was sworn in on Saturday, 5 July, as the Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology.
Meanwhile, Trevor Manemahaga, who previously held the environment portfolio, has been appointed as the new Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration. His official swearing-in is expected to take place soon.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele congratulated Vokia on his new role and said the reshuffle supports the government’s efforts to deliver on national priorities.
The cabinet changes are part of the GNUT’s broader plan to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and realign ministerial roles with key national objectives.
