Government strengthens policy implementation and coordination in 2026 following a national review.
The Solomon Islands Government is strengthening its focus on policy implementation and coordination across government institutions as it enters 2026.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele, MP, referred to a recent week-long policy review workshop held by the Policy Implementation Monitoring Evaluation Unit at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The workshop involved Permanent Secretaries and senior officials from all line ministries and focused.
“Last week, the Policy Implementation Monitoring Evaluation Unit at OPMC held a week-long policy review workshop with Permanent Secretaries and senior officials of all line ministries to improve government policy implementation through programmes and projects in the most efficient and cost-effective ways and through improved coordination”, the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said the emphasis for 2026 is on implementation within the realities of available resources, institutional capacity, and external conditions.
