Tavuli News Visual Editor Bradford Nuanisia Noda has departed Solomon Islands to begin his animation studies in New Zealand under the Manaaki New Zealand Vocational Short-Term Training Scholarship.
Mr Noda will undertake a 10-month New Zealand Diploma in Animation (Level 5) at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, commencing 23 February.
As Visual Editor and Camera Operator, Mr Noda is responsible for the editing of broadcast footage, development of on-screen graphics and overall visual presentation of Tavuli News television content.
Managing Director Lisa Osifelo acknowledged the support of the New Zealand Government and the Media Association of Solomon Islands for making the training opportunity possible.

“We sincerely thank the New Zealand Government and MASI for their continued investment in strengthening media capacity in Solomon Islands,” Ms Osifelo said.
Mr Noda is expected to return to Tavuli News in late 2026 following completion of his studies.
