MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2024 to Begin Matches with Minute of Silence for Vanuatu Earthquake Victims.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2024 has announced that all matches scheduled for Day 4 today (Wednesday 18 December) of the tournament will begin with a minute of silence to honor the recent earthquake victims in Vanuatu.
This gesture is intended to show solidarity with the people of Vanuatu during this challenging time.
“As a Melanesian family, we stand together in moments of both joy and sorrow,” said a statement from the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup LOC. “This moment of silence is a way to express our condolences and support to those affected in Vanuatu.”
The MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2024 continues to provide a platform for promoting camaraderie and shared values among Melanesian nations. Fans attending the matches are invited to participate in this act of remembrance.
Yesterday evening, the Melanesian football community joined the Vanuatu National Team in fellowship following the devastating 7.3 magnitude earthquake that caused destruction and chaos in the nation’s capital.
