Japan’s new Ambassador to Solomon Islands presents credentials, strengthens diplomatic ties with Solomon Islands.
His Excellency Keiichi Hagiuchi, Japan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Solomon Islands, formally presented his Letter of Credentials to Governor General, His Excellency Rev. David Tipa Kapu, during a ceremony held today.
Ambassador Hagiuchi, who assumes the role of Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Solomon Islands, also presented the Letter of Recall for his predecessor, His Excellency Miwa Yoshiaki, whose term concluded last year.
In his address, Ambassador Hagiuchi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and expressed his intent to maintain and promote the friendship and goodwill between Japan and Solomon Islands. He highlighted the opportunity to serve in Solomon Islands and expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in various sectors.
“I am firmly determined to do my best to fulfill my important missions, in such a manner as to merit Your Excellency’s esteem and trust, and at the same time, I sincerely hope that Your Excellency and the people of Solomon Islands will extend to me generous understanding and kind cooperation in the performance of my duty,” Ambassador Hagiuchi said.
In response, Governor General, His Excellency Rev. David Tipa Kapu, acknowledged Japan’s ongoing support to Solomon Islands, particularly in the areas of economic, social, and infrastructure development.
“I am confident that under your tenure as Ambassador to Solomon Islands, both our countries will continue to strengthen our ties and further enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and upholding the principles of democracy, peace and human rights,” Governor General Kapu remarked.
The ceremony marks a new phase in diplomatic relations between Japan and Solomon Islands, with both parties expressing a commitment to deepening their cooperation across various fields.
