Shipping vessel approval processes to be reviewed: Sogavare

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare says his government will review its approval processes for ships into Solomon Islands waters. The Sogavare-led government was under heavy criticism by the media for not responding to the request by the Captain of the US Coast Guard Cutter, Oliver Henry and HMS Spey to make a port call. But speaking at the official opening ceremony of the Pacific Partnership 2022, Sogavare says there has been misinformation circulating in the media.
