Savo Island communities receive church benches and clinic bed stands from John Kemakeza to support worship and health services.
Communities in Savo Island have received a generous donation of new church benches from Mr. John Kemakeza and his team, benefiting the Panueli and Kuila communities. The contribution supports the church’s ongoing efforts to create a more welcoming and comfortable worship environment for the entire community.
The donation forms part of a broader community initiative aimed at supporting local institutions and improving public gathering spaces. The new benches will help accommodate the growing number of congregants attending weekly services, community meetings, and special church events.
As part of the donation, Mr. Kemakeza also personally delivered bed stands and benches for the Panueli Clinic. The clinic has been without proper bed stands and benches for almost a decade, and the community warmly welcomed the much-needed support.
“We are deeply grateful for this thoughtful contribution,” said leaders of the Panueli and Kuila communities.
“These benches are more than just furniture; they represent fellowship, unity, and the generosity that binds our community together.”
The community also acknowledged the important role the church plays in supporting families, youth, and cultural life on Savo Island. On behalf of the communities, the Chairman of Panueli and Kuila thanked Mr. Kemakeza and his team for their continued support and leadership.
“Supporting the church and clinic is supporting the community,” said Mr. Kemakeza. “We are delighted to contribute something meaningful that will be used by people of all ages for many years to come.”
All church benches and clinic bed stands were locally manufactured by G.S. Furniture and Joinery Company in Ranadi, Honiara, with a total value of SBD $113,000.
Mr. Kemakeza and his team reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting development initiatives and community needs across the Savo and Russell Islands Constituency.
