Micah Lea’alafa scores on return from injury as Vipers lose 3-1; updates from FSA State League and NPL round 18.

Micah Lea’alafa marked his return from injury to score the only goal for Vipers in their 1-3 defeat to Pontian Eagles in round 18 of the Football South Australia (FSA) State League One on Saturday.
The goal came in the 22nd minute where Lea’alafa was at the far post, waiting to convert a cross. The cross came and with his back facing the ground, he pounced a well-timed volley to give Vipers the lead.
Ten minutes later, after a sudden clearance by Pontain Eagles, Lea’alafa leaves his usual forward position to fall back in defence. This was a wise decision as he managed to block a cross on time, however a costly decision quickly came later as his clearance was picked up by a Pontian Eagles player. Lea’alafa timed his slide tackle incorrectly, as his feet went for the shin of the Eagles player. He was given a yellow card in the 33rd minute.
Lea’alafa’s goal was the only goal for Vipers but they went on to concede three goals at the hands of Pontian Eagles. These goals came in in the 35th, 66th and 93rd minute respectively.

In the FSA National Premier League (NPL) Junior David picked up yellow in Croydon FC’s match against Adelaide City.
Croydon managed to bag a penalty goal before the halftime whistle. This was soon equalized by Adelaide City in the 57th minute.
In the 74th minute mark, the ball went out of Adelaide City’s box and near the halfway line where David clashed with an Adelaide City player. Intending to whip the ball into the opponent’s box, David instead kicked Adelaide City’s player foot and both players landed on the ground. He was immediately given a yellow card.
Croydon managed to score a goal in 82nd minute, however, the supposedly goal winner was soon followed by a late equalizing goal from Adelaide City in the 84th minute.
