Solomon Ports invites the public to its 70th Anniversary Open Day featuring exhibits, displays, and activities

Solomon Ports is inviting members of the public to join its 70th Anniversary Open Day and Exhibition  on Thursday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, at the Magic Land area along Commonwealth Street, behind the  Millennium Terminal.

The event is part of Solomon Ports’ 70th Anniversary celebrations and provides an opportunity for the  public to learn more about the Port’s history, operations, and contributions to national development.

The day will commence with a staff parade from the SMI grounds at Town Ground. Staff from all  departments and sections will march in their respective groups, showcasing the diverse workforce that  keeps Solomon Ports operating efficiently.

The parade will conclude at the Magic Land venue, where formal proceedings will include addresses by  Solomon Ports Management, Board members, and some of the organization’s longest-serving employees.

Throughout the day, departments will showcase their work through interactive displays and  demonstrations, giving the public a closer look at the essential services that support port operations. The  Operations and Engineering Departments will also conduct equipment demonstrations, highlighting the  machinery and specialized equipment used to handle cargo and facilitate trade through the port.

Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities and competitions for a chance to win  exclusive Solomon Ports 70th Anniversary merchandise and prizes.

Information booths hosted by each department will be available throughout the day, allowing members  of the public to engage directly with staff, ask questions, and learn more about the services provided by  Solomon Ports.

Live entertainment and music will be featured throughout the event, creating a fun and family-friendly  atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

Solomon Ports warmly invites the public to come along and celebrate this important milestone, reflecting  on 70 years of service to the nation while looking ahead to the future of the maritime industry in the  Solomon Islands.
