Three Namstarz Athletics Club athletes will represent Solomon Islands at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.

Three young athletes from the Namstarz Athletics Club have been selected to represent Solomon Islands at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
The Games, which run from 31 October to 13 November 2026, bring together young athletes from around the world to compete in various sporting events.
The three athletes are Donald Aba and Saliva Jalisma, both students of Panatina Community High School, and Gabriel Ini from St Joseph Tenaru.
Their selection marks an important opportunity to compete internationally and represent Solomon Islands on the sporting stage.
Namstarz Athletics Club coach Sharon Firisua says the club is proud to have three athletes selected for the international event.
She says the athletes have worked hard in training and overcome challenges as they prepare to compete.
“As a coach, I’m incredibly proud of this team. Three athletes, one dream to represent Solomon Islands on the world stage,” Firisua says.
She says the athletes are focused on giving their best and gaining valuable experience from the competition.
“They’re ready, they’re focused, and they’re running with everything they have,” Firisua says.
Firisua has also encouraged them to enjoy the experience and make the most of the opportunity to represent their country.
“Whatever the result, they’re already winners just by being here,” she says.
