New fuel prices for petrol, diesel and kerosene take effect in Solomon Islands from 16–30 May 2026.

The Price Advisory Committee (PAC) of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour has released adjusted fuel prices effective from 16 May to 30 May 2026.

Maximum Fuel Prices

Petroleum ProductWholesale PriceRetail Price
Petrol (PMS)970.79 cents per litre1,118.60 cents per litre
Diesel (ADO)1,348.22 cents per litre1,524.33 cents per litre
Kerosene (KERO)1,337.28 cents per litre—

The PAC stated that fuel prices are adjusted twice each month to reduce the size of price increases.

The next fuel price adjustment is expected on 1 June 2026 and will be based on the average global fuel prices recorded during April 2026.

The Government stated that fuel prices would be higher without current fiscal support measures.

Consumers in Honiara are reminded that maximum retail fuel prices remain legally fixed until the next adjustment.

Government also stated that fuel price control measures for provinces are being considered for the June adjustments.

The energy working group will continue reviewing fuel supply options, including alternative and renewable energy sources, to support long-term energy security.
