GRML’s Jin Zhu Gao donates desks and funds to Mamasa School and Church in a show of support for local community.
In a heartfelt gesture of community support, Ms. Jin Zhu Gao, Executive Director of Wanguo Gold Group and a Board Member of Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML), visited Mamasa Village on Monday morning to deliver direct assistance to the local school and church.
Representing GRML, Ms. Gao’s visit was warmly received by the people of Mamasa, who gathered at the village church compound to welcome her and the GRML team. The program began at 10:30am with an opening prayer by Church Elder Meleson James, followed by worship and concluding prayers led by community members.
During the ceremony, Ms. Gao a Christians formally handed over 50 sets of desks and tables to Mamasa Primary School, along with a cheque valued at SBD $130,889.00 to support both the school and the local church. The donation is part of GRML’s ongoing initiative to strengthen ties with surrounding communities and improve grassroots services.
In his welcome address, Elder Meleson James described the occasion as a historic milestone for Mamasa community.
“Your presence and assistance today will bring great blessings to our church and school,” he said. “This is the first time such a senior representative from the mining company has visited our village, and we are truly honoured.”
The school’s Head Teacher and Deputy also spoke during the event, expressing deep appreciation for the educational support.
“This furniture will directly benefit our students and help improve learning in the classroom,” they said. “It is a meaningful gift that will serve future generations.”
Speaking at the handover, Ms. Gao thanked the Mamasa community for their warm hospitality and reaffirmed her personal and professional commitment to the people of Central Guadalcanal.
“I am honoured to be here today,” she said. “Gold is a blessing from God, and my help also comes from God. I want to see our communities, churches, and schools happy. But we must work together to support the GRML operation here at Gold Ridge.”
Her message resonated with the ccommunity, who praised her humility and compassion.
The event ended on a high note with celebration, singing, and prayers of thanksgiving, marking what many community members described as a deeply moving and hopeful day for the Mamasa community.
Ms. Jin Zhu Gao is an Executive Director & Deputy General Manager at Jiangxi Province Yifeng Wanguo Mining Co. Ltd. She is on the Board of Directors at Wanguo Gold Group Ltd., Quanzhou Wanguo Development Co. Ltd., Jiangxi Province Yifeng Wanguo Mining Co. Ltd., Fujian Jianyang Jinshan Mining Co. Ltd., Fujian Jianyang Wanguo Mining Co. Ltd. and Achieve Ample Investments Ltd. Ms. Gao also served on the board at Gold Ridge Mining Ltd.
Her historic visit to Mamasa Village is part of GRML’s broader commitment to inclusive development and long-term partnerships with landowning communities surrounding the Gold Ridge mine.
