PM Matthew Wale meets SICCI leaders to discuss reforms, business growth and reducing Solomon Islands living costs
PRIME Minister Hon Matthew Wale today has received a courtesy visit from the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI).
Chairlady of SICCI Ms. Namoi Kaluae took the opportunity to congratulate the Prime Minister on his recent election.
Ms. Kaluae said SICCI looks forward in working with the Prime Minister and the new government.
The SICCI chairlady also informed Prime Minister Wale on the upcoming events including the Prime Minister’s Dinner, PNG-SI Business Forum and the Business Excellence Award in November.
Prime Minister Wale in response thanked SICCI for the visit.
He said SICCI and the government must work closely together to bring about the changes needed in this country.
The Prime Minister said both the government and SICCI through its members have an obligation to the people of this country.
“The government together with business houses have an equal and important role in making sure cost of living is reduced. There are serious reforms that needs to be done and one of the new government’s policy is to empower indigenous businesses,” he said.
Prime Minister Wale said he would be making announcements on this policy in the coming days.
The Prime Minister adds that the country’s bloated economy needs an urgent fix.
