Fulisango Road repairs in Central Kwara’ae improve access for farmers and communities traveling to Auki
Fulisango Road in Central Kwara’ae, Malaita Province, has been undergoing repairs and maintenance carried out by the local Trades Transformation Company Limited (TTC) since last week.
This 9 km unsealed road network has been in a deteriorated state for the past two years. The contractor has initially conducted emergency works to make it trafficable and is now progressing with a full upgrade from Auki junction at Fa’asitoro Heights to Busininiu village located at the Fiu River upper course. The crew continue to undergo overgrown vegetation clearance, re-gravelling, minor drain works and compaction.
This project provides relief for the Kwara’ae people living in the interior highlands, who are primarily farmers, by improving access to Auki and facilitating better service delivery.

it meets the upper course of the Fiu River.
The Ministry of Transport Infrastructure Management team based in Auki will continue monitoring and inspecting the progress of these works.
TTC is also carrying out maintenance from Maoa to Hauhui along the South Road. Furthermore, this leading local construction company is gearing up for the sealing project of the first 5 kilometres from Kwaibala to Oibola.
All these projects are funded under the National Transport Fund (Solomon Islands and Australian Government contribution).
