One might think that establishing a coffee shop in Honiara during the pandemic might be too much of a risk. Well, it is a risk but for Bronwyn there is no turning back.
Café Bliss opened its doors during the pandemic when Honiara was in a State of Public Health Emergency. With COVID-19 being a new disease, Honiara was mostly in a lockdown mode and most businesses were floundering.
When Solomon Islands closed its international borders in 2020, a lot of the expatriates left the country to go back to their home countries. Coffee and café is a part of the culture. The culture of coffee in cafes is a new trend for Solomon Islanders. This just a tiny proportion of the population.
But for Bronwyn, her heart was set out on getting the café in operation that she decided to go ahead with the business, no matter what. Café Bliss to date is thriving and have since seen an increase in customers.
