The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service lifts heavy rain warning, forecasting fine weather with light showers.
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service has canceled the heavy rain warning that was previously issued for Central, Guadalcanal, Malaita, Makira, Temotu, and Rennell & Bellona provinces. The warning was lifted at 5:30 PM on Monday, 30th December 2024.
A trough that had been affecting the region is now located just south of the Solomon Islands. As a result, the heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to ease and fall below the warning threshold.
The weather outlook for the next 18 hours indicates mostly fine weather in most provinces, with a few showers in some areas. Honiara and surrounding regions can expect light to moderate north to northwest winds, along with a possibility of afternoon thunderstorms.
