Prime Minister Matthew Wale receives a traditional welcome in Fiji ahead of bilateral talks and the PIF Troika Meeting
Prime Minister Matthew Wale has been accorded a traditional welcome in Suva today by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the Government of Fiji.
The ceremony commenced with Prime Minister Wale acknowledging Prime Minister Rabuka for the high esteem and warm reception extended to him since his arrival in Fiji.
The traditional welcome was hosted by the Government of Fiji, led by Prime Minister Rabuka, on behalf of the people of Fiji, in honour of Prime Minister Wale as a distinguished guest.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Wale expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government and people of Fiji for their warm hospitality. He noted that Fiji has always been a close Melanesian brother and continues to provide strong leadership within the region.
Prime Minister Wale is scheduled to meet with the Governor-General of Fiji and hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Rabuka later today, before convening the Troika Meeting.
