Solomon Islands High Commission hosts luncheon honouring Pacific Community Day participants and artist Sharzy

Solomon Islands High Commission in Port Moresby hosted a luncheon to express appreciation to members of the Solomon Islands community and renowned Solomon Islands artist Sharzy for their participation in the Pacific Community Day held on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium.
The Pacific Community Day was hosted by Powes Parkop and brought together cultural groups and music artists from across the Pacific, including Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Fiji, Solomon Islands, West Papua and Papua New Guinea. The event showcased vibrant cultural and contemporary performances celebrating the diversity and unity of Pacific communities.
The appreciation luncheon provided an opportunity for the Solomon Islands High Commissioner to personally thank all participants for their active involvement in proudly showcasing Solomon Islands culture and music during the event. The High Commissioner also acknowledged the continued support and cooperation of the Solomon Islands community in Papua New Guinea towards the work of the High Commission.
The Solomon Islands High Commission remains committed to supporting the Solomon Islands community in Papua New Guinea and to fostering unity while strengthening people-to-people connections between the two countries.
