Litara Ieremia Alan from Samoa is crowned the new Miss Pacific Islands, succeeding Moemoana Safato’a Schwenke.

The 2025 Miss Pacific Islands Pageant has concluded, with Litara Ieremia Alan from Samoa being crowned the new Miss Pacific Islands. Known for her charisma, Litara represented Samoa with great pride, carrying the hopes of her nation as she competed. She impressed the judges with her poise, eloquence, and commitment to her advocacy, succeeding the reigning queen, Moemoana Safato’a Schwenke, also of Samoa. Litara will now serve as a regional ambassador, promoting Pacific values and cultural exchange.

The event, held in Honiara, brought together eight contestants from across the Pacific, each proudly representing their nations. The competition, which ran from February 1-8, centered around the theme “Leadership in Diversity and Adversity.” Reflecting on the pageant as a host, the Miss Solomon Islands Pageant emphasized that this year’s event was not just about the crown but the journey of sisterhood. Throughout the week, the contestants formed strong bonds of connection, with shared experiences from introductions, a lively float parade, and heartfelt speeches. Moments of laughter, encouragement, and camaraderie united them, turning strangers into sisters.

During the week-long pageant, former queen Moemoana Safato’a Schwenke reflected on her reign, calling it a “full-circle moment” as she passed the crown in the same country where her mother had once crowned a Miss Solomon Islands winner. In her final speech, Moemoana thanked the Pacific governments and sponsors for their support of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, emphasizing that such moments bring the Pacific people together to embrace their culture and advocate for issues they feel strongly about. She congratulated the contestants and extended her best wishes to the new Miss Pacific Islands. As part of her farewell, she performed a final act with the Dreamcast team, including a fire dance.

The Miss Pacific Islands Pageant continues to serve as an important platform for young Pacific women to showcase their intelligence, cultural pride, and leadership. The event reinforces the significance of representation and advocacy for women across the region.
