September 2026 Solomon Islands passport ranking places the country 59th globally, with a mobility score of 137 and access to 69.2% of destinations through visa-free travel, visa on arrival or other simplified-entry arrangements, and electronic travel authorisations. The score consists of 84 visa-free destinations, 44 destinations in the visa-on-arrival or simplified-entry category, and nine eTA destinations. A further 61 destinations are listed as requiring a visa in advance.

Oceania access places Solomon Islands third in the region

Within Oceania, Solomon Islands is ranked third among 14 countries. Its regional access rate is 84.6%, with four destinations available visa-free, seven through visa on arrival or other simplified-entry arrangements, and two in the visa-required category. Fiji and Vanuatu are listed as visa-free for stays of up to 120 days, Kiribati for 90 days and Micronesia for 30 days. Marshall Islands, Nauru, Samoa, Palau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Papua New Guinea are in the simplified-entry category; Papua New Guinea is also marked as having an e-visa option. Australia and New Zealand are listed in the visa-required category, with Australia marked as offering an e-visa route.

Europe and the Caribbean record the broadest regional coverage

The report shows 89.4% access across Europe. Thirty-nine European destinations are listed as visa-free, most with stays of up to 90 days. Türkiye and Ukraine are in the visa-on-arrival or simplified-entry category, while the United Kingdom is listed under eTA with a stay of up to 180 days. Five European destinations are in the visa-required category: Albania, Belarus, North Macedonia, Russia and Serbia, with Albania and Serbia marked as having e-visa options.

Coverage is higher in the Caribbean at 93.8%. Thirteen destinations are visa-free, Cuba is in the simplified-entry category, Saint Kitts and Nevis is listed under eTA, and Guyana is the single visa-required destination in that regional grouping. The wider North America grouping records 91.3% access, including 18 visa-free destinations, one simplified-entry destination and two eTA destinations; the United States and Mexico are listed as requiring a visa.

Access varies sharply across Asia, Africa and the Gulf

Across Asia, the access rate is 50.0%. Eight destinations are visa-free, 14 are available through visa on arrival or other simplified-entry arrangements, three are listed under eTA and 25 require a visa. Among the visa-free entries, the United Arab Emirates is listed for up to 90 days, while China, Hong Kong SAR and the Philippines are listed for up to 30 days. Malaysia and Singapore are also visa-free for up to 30 days but carry an arrival-card requirement. South Korea, Israel and Sri Lanka are in the eTA category, with stays of 30, 90 and 30 days respectively.

Africa records 63.0% access. Eleven destinations are visa-free, 20 are in the visa-on-arrival or simplified-entry category, and three are under electronic travel authorisation. The eTA group includes Côte d’Ivoire with pre-registration for up to 90 days, Kenya for up to 90 days, and Seychelles with tourist registration for up to 90 days. Twenty African destinations are in the visa-required category. The Gulf grouping is more restricted at 16.7%: the United Arab Emirates is the sole visa-free destination, while Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman are listed as requiring a visa, with e-visa options noted for four of those five destinations.

Several destinations use additional entry procedures

The destination lists also identify entry procedures that sit alongside the main visa classifications. The Dominican Republic is shown with an e-ticket requirement for a 30-day stay, Suriname with a tourist card for up to 90 days, and Malaysia and Singapore with arrival-card requirements for stays of up to 30 days. Cabo Verde is identified with EASE in the simplified-entry category. These procedural notes are part of the report’s destination-level access data and do not change the headline mobility score.

Context rankings add another view of the passport’s position

In the report’s contextual comparisons, Solomon Islands ranks 20th among 60 countries grouped by English as an official language, 15th among 25 parliamentary constitutional monarchies, 63rd among 159 World Trade Organization members, 20th among 56 Commonwealth countries and 23rd among 132 G77 countries. The separate welcoming ranking, which measures how easily foreign passport holders can enter Solomon Islands rather than how Solomon Islands passport holders travel abroad, places the country 108th among 199 countries.

Reciprocity data shows two different travel directions

The report identifies 10 countries whose passport holders can enter Solomon Islands visa-free, with electronic permission or through a visa-on-arrival arrangement while Solomon Islands passport holders face a visa requirement for those same destinations. The group comprises the United States, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Guyana, Japan, Kuwait, Thailand and New Zealand.

In the opposite direction, 71 countries are listed as requiring a visa from their own passport holders for entry to Solomon Islands while offering Solomon Islands passport holders visa-free access, electronic permission or a simplified-entry arrangement. The list includes destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas, among them India, the Philippines, Kenya, Türkiye, Ukraine, Peru, Colombia, Vietnam and Zambia. These reciprocity indicators describe the direction of the respective entry rules and do not assign a value judgement to either policy.

The outbound access figures should also be kept distinct from Solomon Islands visa requirements, which concern the conditions applied to foreign passport holders entering Solomon Islands. The passport ranking measures the reverse direction: the access available to Solomon Islands passport holders when travelling to other destinations.

Taken together, the September report records a global rank of 59, a mobility score of 137 and global access of 69.2%. The largest part of that access comes from 84 visa-free destinations, supplemented by 44 destinations with visa on arrival or other simplified-entry arrangements and nine eTA destinations, while 61 destinations remain in the visa-required category. Regionally, the strongest coverage shown in the report is in the Caribbean, North America and Europe, while Solomon Islands also holds third place among the 14 passports ranked within Oceania.
