Prime Minister Matthew Wale urges prayers, unity and accountability as Solomon Islands embraces new hope
PRIME Minister. Matthew Wale has encouraged churches and citizens to continue praying for the new Government.
Prime Minister Wale made the remarks during a church service at Holy Cross Church this morning.
The Prime Minister said the country’s leaders are servants of the people.
“We are servants of our people, and we must always be accountable,” he said.
During his message, Archbishop Christopher Cardone said the new Government has given Solomon Islanders “a breath of fresh air and great hope.”
He encouraged the Prime Minister and his Government to speak with one voice in serving the country and its people.
“We must speak the language of tolerance, unity, love and compassion rather than hostility, division and hate,” he said.
Archbishop Cardone also encouraged citizens and national leaders to stand united.
Prime Minister Wale and Madam Wale attended the service at the invitation of the Archbishop and the Auki Parish and Buma Parish communities in Honiara.
