US provides humanitarian aid to cyclone-affected communities in Western and Choiseul Provinces, Solomon Islands.
Following the impact of Tropical Cyclone Maila, the United States is providing humanitarian assistance to affected communities in Western and Choiseul Provinces. Support includes emergency shelter, access to safe drinking water, sanitation services, and relief supplies for those most impacted by the storm.
U.S. assistance is being coordinated with the Government of Solomon Islands, as well as Australia, New Zealand, and local organisations, to support timely and effective delivery of aid.
The response comes as many communities continue to face challenges including damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, and food shortages in the aftermath of the cyclone.
