GNUT welcomes judicial review case, urges calm and respect for law as High Court process begins in Solomon Islands
Honiara, Solomon Islands, Monday 30 March 2026 – The Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) acknowledges the filing of a Judicial Review application before the High Court, registered as Judicial Review Case No. 154 of 2026, and welcomes the opportunity for the matter to be addressed through the appropriate legal process.
GNUT recognises this action as part of the democratic process and the constitutional right of parties to seek judicial review on matters of public interest.
The Government expresses full confidence in the independence, integrity, and impartiality of the High Court. It will adhere to all legal processes as the matter proceeds and will respect and abide by the Court’s final determination, including any further legal processes available under the law.
The Prime Minister calls on all Solomon Islanders to remain calm and allow the judicial process to proceed without interference.
“Public confidence in the justice system must be upheld, and all parties are urged to act responsibly and in the national interest,” the Prime Minister said.
At this time, the Government encourages leaders, stakeholders, and citizens alike to maintain unity, stability, and respect for the rule of law.
The Government continues to focus on delivering its national priorities, including preparations for LDC graduation in 2027 and the country’s 50th Anniversary.
