Empowering women entrepreneurs in Honiara through financial literacy and business training led by SICCI and USP.
Honiara, Solomon Islands– The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), in collaboration with the Graduate School of Business (GSB), hosted a successful Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Workshop last Friday at The University of the South Pacific (USP) – Solomon Islands Campus.
Twenty-two women entrepreneurs attended the training, which we’re pleased to partner on with USP Solomon Islands Campus through @MBA – USP to deliver this impactful initiative.
Designed to support financially disadvantaged women in Honiara, the workshop focused on strengthening key skills in financial literacy, cash management, business management, and digital marketing capabilities.
Led by GSB teaching staff, this program builds on the success of a similar initiative held in Suva. It equipped participants with practical tools to better manage, sustain, and grow their small businesses.
“This workshop is a vital step in empowering women-led enterprises, fostering economic resilience and growth in our communities,” said SICCI Board Vice Chair Mr Gordon Denty stated.
“SICCI and our members are grateful for the strong partnership, and look forward to more such initiatives.”
The event underscores GSB’s and SICCI’s commitment to supporting SMEs, particularly women entrepreneurs, through targeted training and capacity-building programs.
