Solomon Power and SIBF reaffirm their partnership to support youth development and community wellbeing through basketball.
Honiara, Solomon Islands – Solomon Power and the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF) have formally reaffirmed their partnership to support community development through basketball, as part of Solomon Power’s ongoing commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligations.
Through this partnership, Solomon Power is supporting the SIBF Senior League competition and the rollout of the Solomon Islands Basketball Grassroots Program, aimed at creating inclusive and structured pathways for youth participation and development across the country.

The partnership reflects a shared vision between Solomon Power and SIBF to use sport as a tool for positive social impact. For Solomon Power, the sponsorship aligns directly with its CSR mandate to contribute to nation building, youth development, and the wellbeing of communities it serves.
Solomon Power recognizes the important role sport plays in promoting healthy lifestyles, discipline, teamwork, and social inclusion, particularly for young people. Speaking on behalf of Solomon Power, General Manager Corporate Services, Mr. Droumand Rupert, indicated that the support to SIBF is part of the company’s commitment to community service through its CSR initiatives.

This partnership with SIBF reflects our commitment to creating positive social outcomes, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting the development of our young people,” Mr. Rupert said.

Speaking on behalf of the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation, SIBF Board Member Ms. Gloria Hong welcomed the continued partnership and acknowledged the importance of CSR-driven support.
“We sincerely appreciate Solomon Power’s continued support and commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility through sport. This partnership enables SIBF to strengthen its competitions and launch our first-ever Grassroots Program, which will create clear pathways for young players and contribute to the sustainable growth of basketball nationwide,” Ms. Hong said.
Ms. Hong added that partnerships grounded in shared values are essential for the success and sustainability of sports development programs.
