NGC reaffirms support for churches through 2025 CDF funding, strengthening hope, unity, and community services.
The North Guadalcanal Constituency (NGC) Office, under the leadership of Minister Dr. Paul Bosawai, continues to provide support to churches to ensure they are able to serve their congregations and communities effectively.
This support forms part of the NGC Office’s ongoing efforts to acknowledge the important role churches play in bringing hope, unity, and service within communities across North Guadalcanal.
Last month, the NGC Office provided SBD 124,000 in financial assistance to Christ the King, Tetere Parish Catholic Church. The funding will be used to expand the Parish Community Hall and Chapel, creating additional space for worship, community gatherings, and social activities, and supporting greater community participation and unity.
In addition, the NGC Office supplied 25 solar-powered security lighting systems, valued at SBD 100,000, to the Good Shepherd Cathedral. The initiative is aimed at improving safety and security within the church compound and surrounding areas, contributing to a safer environment for parishioners and nearby residents.
These initiatives demonstrate the NGC Office’s commitment to supporting churches under the leadership of Minister Dr. Paul Bosawai.
“Churches play a vital role in bringing hope, unity, and service to our communities. Therefore, we remain committed to providing resources wherever possible to help them succeed in their mission,” he said.
Constituency Development Officer (CDO) Simon Ngoli added, “In difficult times, churches are more important than ever as centres of hope and community. They are the pillars of society, and it’s our responsibility to support their work. Our goal is to help churches continue their vital role and reach more people.”
The support was made possible through funding from the Solomon Islands Government, administered by the Ministry of Rural Development through the Constituency Development Program (CDP). The assistance falls under the NGC Office’s 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) budget allocation and complies with Section 26 (2)(d) and (3)(d) of the CDF Act 2023.
