Christina Mitini leads the g7+ mission observing Guinea-Bissau’s 2025 elections to support credible and peaceful voting
Christina Mitini, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of the Solomon Islands, has been appointed Chief Observer for the g7+ Election Observation Mission to Guinea-Bissau’s 23 November 2025 elections.
Mitini will lead a team of electoral experts from across the g7+ as they monitor campaigning, polling, counting, and the post-election environment from 18–27 November. The mission aims to support a credible and peaceful vote in the conflict-affected nation.

The g7+ Secretariat says Mitini’s leadership reflects the coalition’s commitment to peer support and stronger democratic institutions. The group has observed elections in Timor-Leste, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, and the Solomon Islands since institutionalising its observation program in 2023.
Mitini’s report will offer an impartial assessment and recommendations to help strengthen future elections and promote stability in Guinea-Bissau.
