Auki police arrest 53-year-old man for assaulting wife in West Kwara’ae; call for end to domestic violence.
Auki police have arrested a 53-year-old man for assaulting his wife on 26 June 2025 in west Kwara’ae, Malaita Province.
The 52-year-old male suspect who was heavily intoxicated allegedly assault his 40-year-old wife after accusing her of consuming alcohol at a family wedding. The victim was later rushed to Fauabu clinic by her relatives for urgent medical care.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Michael Ramosaea said, “our investigation reveals a disturbing history of repeated assaults.”
Mr. Ramosaea strongly condemns violence against women and reminds individuals that such violence will not be tolerated in our communities around Malaita province.
Police encourage those families encountering such issues to seek help from authorities, support services, and our church leaders.
Police urge community members to speak out against domestic violence and cultivate a culture of respect and safety for all.
