Foreign Affairs Minister Rick Houenipwela welcomes US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to Honiara for official talks.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Rick Houenipwela, welcomed United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau following his arrival at Honiara International Airport last night.
Deputy Secretary Landau is on an official tour of the Pacific from August 31 to September 11, visiting Palau for the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Meeting, as well as the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Solomon Islands and Kiribati.
During his visit to Honiara, Deputy Secretary Landau is expected to meet with government representatives and business leaders to further advance shared economic and security priorities between Solomon Islands and the United States.
The visit reflects the growing engagement between Solomon Islands and the United States and provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation on areas of mutual interest
